I haven't had my 400EX very long, so I'm still learning my way around it. I'm assuming the stock front sprocket is a 15 tooth? I have both a 14, and 13 that are left over from the XR400 I used to have. I like to crawl and pick my way thru the tight trails ( I sure miss my Big Bear ) and plan on swapping out the front sprocket. My question is: Has anyone tried a 13 tooth? I'm wondering if there is enough adjustment in the axle carrier to re-adjust the chain??? Thanks for any enlightenment.

i don't know your answer but if theres not enough room in the adjuster you could always shorten the chain. you may even need to use a half link. but like i said i wouldn't know. it also depends on how stretched your old chain is.
